In a dominant display of attacking football, Manchester City cruised to a 4-1 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, moving one step closer to clinching the Premier League title.

City’s star striker Sergio Aguero opened the scoring in the second minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Arsenal. The Argentinean forward added another goal in the second half, taking his Premier League tally to 181 and cementing his place as one of the competition’s all-time greats.

Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan also continued his impressive form, scoring a brace to take his goal tally to 12 for the season. His first goal came from a sublime pass from Kevin De Bruyne, while his second was a stunning long-range effort that left Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno with no chance.

Arsenal’s only goal of the game came from a penalty, which was awarded after City defender Ruben Dias brought down Bukayo Saka in the box. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted the spot-kick, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the Gunners.

City’s victory means that they now sit 10 points clear of second-placed Manchester United with just five games remaining in the season. With such a healthy lead, it seems only a matter of time before Pep Guardiola’s side are crowned champions once again.

For Arsenal, however, the defeat is a bitter blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four. Mikel Arteta’s side now sit ninth in the table, seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with just four games remaining. With their European hopes fading fast, the Gunners will need to regroup quickly if they are to salvage something from what has been a disappointing season.
